About the Chef

Meet The Healthy Chef

I have been cooking professionally since 2005 but healthy living and healthy cooking have been passions for me for as long as I can remember. I have diary entries from the age of 10 detailing my food consumption along with theassociated calorie counts. I even weighed the food to get an accurate count. The same diary contains an exercise and activity journal:

Yoga; check, Ride bike; check, Facial: check, Lift Weights; check. I was a very health conscious little 10 year old.

Don’t worry, I’m not completely one dimensional. There were plenty of other things in my diary you might imagine from a Catholic school girl, but those entries will stay in my diary where they belong.

My passion for learning about health was not a phase. I went on to receive a degree in Exercise Science with a Concentration in Fitness Management from the University of Memphis as well as a Health and Fitness Instructor Certification from the American College of Sports Medicine. I have done just about everything in the wellness field from corporate health to hospital wellness and everything in between.

My interest in cooking started at a very young age as well. I had one grandmother feeding me yogurt and salads with wheat germ and the other feeding me chicken and dumplings. My mother was somewhere in between. She taught me a lot of our family’s Hungarian cooking as well as our southern cooking. I have always enjoyed watching and learning from them and eventually modified most of their favorite recipes into healthy versions.

I left the business world to be a stay at home mom which gave me a little more freedom to work on my favorite hobby: cooking. Along the way I created many of my own healthy recipes. and the best part of it all was that they did not even know how healthy they were eating. The feedback I received from family and friends was overwhelmingly positive I was getting so many requests that I started a little business just to see if it would work. IT DID! After months of studying, I took and passed the Culinary Institutes Personal Chef Program, became certified and continue my membership. I have really enjoyed being able to impact the health of others while providing some really tasty food. My “healthy obsession” continues as I exercise daily, teach aerobics at my church, eat healthy and live healthy. I try to stay on top of all of the newest research and findings and I enjoy sharing my love of health and cooking with anyone who will let me.

My family and my faith are important to me. I am married with 3 children and one grandchild. I stay involved with my church and try to live out my faith everyday.
